A-section brothers retuned to campus this term with the goal of exceeding expectations for recruitment. With a member count of 29 actives we are currently the largest house on campus. Regardless, it was no time to let our guard down.
Recruitment
The A-section brothers kicked the term off with multiple top tier rush events including bubble soccer, mini golf, go carts, and much more. Currently we have ten excellent bid acceptors with the possibility of more to accept next winter. This rush season had us overcome a few challenges. With the new learning commons opened up, very few freshman walk through the pool to get to class. This forced us to find new ways of meeting potential future Delts other than just hanging out in the pool. All in all, the chapter handled the change very well and the result was a very successful rush.

House Improvements
Unfortunately one of the two brick wall planters located on the patio became structurally compromised this term. Due to safety concerns that the wall would fall over and hurt somebody it was decided to remove the planter. GMT purchased two large dumpsters and the A-section brothers got to work removing and disposing the brick.
Xi restoration started
This term the restoration of Xi has finally begun. Throughout the summer term a new floor was installed, Holes in the walls were patched, New lights and electrical outlets were installed, Radiator covers cleaned and painted. Inside the dorm room new access panels were built for the attic entrance and for the up west shower controls. While good progress was made on Xi there is still much to do. Hopefully by next winter we can paint the room and get this project finished.
Philanthropy
After two terms of slow philanthropic efforts due to Covid-19, The A-section brothers made a triumphant comeback with two very successful philanthropic events.
Parents Weekend:
- $3,100 raised for JDRF
Family and friends were invited to our shelter for our annual parents weekend. During this we host an auction, provide food, and give tours of the house. As traditionally done the seniors smoked an entire pig the night prior to provide pulled pork for the event.
Delt Dogs:
$296 raised for adopt-a-pet Fenton
We partnered with adopt-a-pet of Fenton to bring puppies and kittens to Kettering’s campus. For a small entrance fee students could meet the animals. All proceeds went to adopt-a-pet.
