The Delts of Epsilon Iota-B were busy this term! In addition to our academics we have been busy recruiting, working with the local community, raising money for JDRF, elections, the new Learning Commons, and much more!
Beginning the term off strong with recruitment events like the Animal Hunt and All Day Cookout, we are closing the term strongly with 10 bid acceptors! The house continues to grow and thrive post-pandemic. With gains comes some losses, Brothers Jordan Goward, Parker Reid, and Andrew Johnston, have since been brought to alumni status and will endure the brotherhood via the eternal work term. Their impacts on our brotherhood stand the test of time and their influences on us will remain.
Not only have we been busy on campus, but have made great strides in our relationship with our neighbors, Life Challenge Of Flint, an addiction rehabilitation home for adults. Whether it is attending graduation ceremonies for their members, raising money, or donating our labor and food, we take pride in the memories and good relationships that continue to grow with them.
Through our annual JDRF Parent’s day Basket Raffle we were able to raise the most money we have in years! A whopping $4,635 was raised by parents, members, and friends and sent to JDRF.
Elections Update
To wrap up the term we had elections. A typically long process, made quick by hard working members and attentive listeners. Our new top-5 E-Board includes:
- President: Colton Brown
- Vice President: Kevin Lawrence
- Treasurer: Zach Pass
- Director of Membership Development: Colin Mazzola
- Risk Manager: Shane Miller
With many of the new leaders of our shelter being Neophytes, it’s a blessing to have such young, dedicated talent within our organization and it is a testament to the willingness of our brothers and their commitment to see our home grow.
