For Epsilon Iota B and Kettering as a whole, the Fall term was quite an interesting and quickly changing time. To start the term, about 50% of classes were in person with the other half being completely virtual. Even the in-person classes had a camera in the room to offer students the option to only attend virtually. Desk were spaced 6 feet apart, masks on at all time, health screens at the entrances were starting to become normal after a few weeks. However, after participating in random COVID tests at the start of the fourth week, we were surprised to find a few positive tests. Over the next week, we had 15 members test positive and other members who we expected had the virus but were unable to get tested. The Delt house went into a full quarantine that would end up lasting three and a half weeks. We are lucky to say most of us had only very minor symptoms and were able to recover fairly easily. Positive COVID cases were in many more places across campus than just our house, and new state restrictions came out which forced Kettering to transition to a fully online term for the remaining weeks of the term.
