Our 2024 Kettering Delt Alumni Picnic will be held on Sunday, August 11 the shelter, 1210 Dupont Street.  We had a great turnout last year and we are hoping to make it even bigger this year.  Both A and B sections are welcome. Recent Contributions Our Delt house renovation campaign is well underway! While many of the early donors were from the 80’s, earlier classes have recently been stepping up the to challenge too. As the GMT Chair I’ve had the opportunity to chat with several GMI Delts, and it was my great pleasure to recently speak with one of our first presiding officers, Mr. Larry V. Hough. Larry joined Gamma Mu Tau Fraternity in 1960. Sometime after GMI became an accredited engineering university, the local fraternity started considering joining a national fraternity. In a previous note I mentioned our primary direction is to remodel the shelter as opposed to moving. This is still our direction. However there have been some recent developments. Kettering is getting more serious about their “Greek Village” concept, and other fraternities on Dupont street are seriously considering it. The GMT Board of Trustees continues to make progress toward its vision of providing one of the best Greek shelters at Kettering. GMT and chapter representatives met with several potential architects over the past 12 months to find one that both fit our budget and our shared vision. In the end we selected FUNchitecture of Flint, Michigan to complete phase I which will include digital “as-built” drawings from the original blueprints, and creation of conceptual renderings based on our feedback. … Read More
